A single woman who thought her date was inviting her out for a nice dinner has made an awkward discovery when she turned up to the address he sent her.
Vanessa, from Canada, matched with a man on the popular dating app Hinge.

Just as things were going well between the pair, the man asked her out to dinner for their first date.
On the day of the date, Vanessa entered the address into her maps so she could drive to the restaurant – only to find out she was at McDonald’s.
“So if you’re single and on the dating apps, I just wanted to tell you that I was talking to this guy on Hinge for a little while and things were going really well,” she said.
“He asked me if he could take me out for dinner and I was like, ‘Yeah sure, why not?’ So he just sent me the address, I didn’t even question it.
“I showed up to the address and it was McDonald’s… At least I got a free Diet Coke out of it.”
As she took a sip out of her McDonald’s cup, Vanessa ended her video with an advice to all the singletons.
“Stay safe out there,” she said.

Her video has been viewed more than 290,000 times – with many sharing their own dating fail stories.
“Literally the same thing happened to me. Picked me up to ‘take me out to eat’ and we went to McDonald’s. Then he asked if we could ‘go park somewhere’,” one shared.
Another revealed: “I met a guy in my apartment building and he asked me if I wanted to grab coffee at the lobby. I thought it was a cute coffee shop. Nope, he actually meant the apartment lobby.”
One shared: “I met up with a guy on my lunch break once because he asked and when I got to the McDonald’s he had already ordered his food.”
While another said: That’s better than what I got once. I got catfished with old photos, met him and got a high five. I wish I could say no. He said because he didn’t know me that well I couldn’t get a hug so a handshake was best.”
Meanwhile, many weighed in on Vanessa’s story.
“Should of been a red flag that he sent you an address instead of the name of the eatery,” one suggested, laughing.
Another joked: “Girl! I’m jealous he asked you on a date! I just get, ‘Want to hang out?’”
One added: “I’ve got bad news. I’m almost 50. I’m single and on dating apps. It doesn’t get any better.”
Another suggested: “It could’ve been so much worse. I think you lucked out! Enjoy.”
While one shared: “At least he showed up. I got stood up today.”
