My ex-boyfriend left me his $700,000 estate. His pregnant wife is furious she got nothing

My ex-boyfriend left me his $700,000 estate. His pregnant wife is furious she got nothing

A woman has been embroiled in a bitter feud with her late ex-boyfriend’s family after she inherited his $700,000 estate — with his pregnant wife getting nothing.

The couple were together for two decades before their relationship ended after she discovered he was having an affair with his now-wife.

“I found out that he cheated on me three years ago so I left him,” she said in a viral Reddit thread.

“Six months later I heard they were married.”

Just one year into dating her current boyfriend, she found out she was pregnant.

“Even though we still weren’t ‘there’ in the relationship, we thought that we could make it happen and sure enough we are very happy and we love our little family very much,” she said.

Over the years, her ex kept texting her on occasions — including her birthdays and holidays.

However, she never responded to him.

When her ex found out about the birth of her baby daughter, he sent her a “lengthy, hurtful text” accusing her of cheating on him.

“I never answered… and he never texted me again,” she said.

“A few months later my ex ended his life.. His wife is apparently giving birth anytime now. I was surprised.”

One day, she received a phone call out of the blue from a solicitor informing her she had inherited a majority of her ex’s estate, worth $700,000.

”He had left everything to me besides some to his parents’ pension and his nephew,” she said.

“I got a letter from him apologising for what he did and saying that he loved me and wished me and my family happiness and he wanted to help with that.”

Despite the kind gesture, her ex left nothing for his widowed wife who’s currently pregnant with his child.

“Now his wife and parents are very angry and demand that I leave them everything,” she said.

“I don’t know. Would I be the a****** if I kept it because that is what I actually want and what he wanted?”

Her post has been met with more than 6100 comments — with many defending her decision to keep the estate.

“I think he passed with regrets and wanted to make it right. And I have a feeling he knew his unborn child is not his and finding out you moved on was a tipping point. He left that money to you on his own accord for a reason… He was with you for 20 years and chose to honour that time together,” one said.

Another suggested: “He gave it to you. He clearly meant to. In terms of whether you deserve it, it’s hard to understand why you’re any less deserving than the wife and parents. You clearly meant something to him, he shared your life for many years. I don’t think you have anything to feel bad about.”

Meanwhile, many urged the woman to hire a lawyer.

“You need to talk to an attorney. The wife and her child may have a legal claim to his estate. You need to get your ducks in a row,” one said.
